The Coach House Phase I - 2018

DAS was the developer on this project, and provided General Contracting services for the renovation of a 1900's-era brick building in Northampton, MA. The historic Coach House, located in Village Hill, is about a mile from downtown Northampton, and surrounded by conserved woodlands, farmland, and a large community garden.

Phase I included the addition of insulation, new windows, and an energy-efficient heating system, as well as the complete renovation of the first floor, which now houses a new location for the Conway School of Landscape Design. From the new campus, students and faculty can easily access designed and natural spaces for educational purposes: riparian corridors and wetlands, public parks with green infrastructure, both traditional and urban agriculture, suburban residential settlements, rail-trail bike path conversions, and conserved wild lands.
