South Hadley Public Library - 2014
DAS provided Owner's Project Management services for the development of the new South Hadley Public Library, a landmark community project located in the heart of South Hadley Falls.
The library opened in 2014 as part of a broader effort to revitalize the Falls district and provide an accessible, sustainable, and welcoming public resource for the community. Designed to reflect the character of South Hadley's historic mill architecture, the two-story masonry and structural steel building blends traditional design elements with contemporary library functionality. Large south-facing windows maximize natural daylight and provide views of the river and surrounding landscape, while the building's layout creates an intuitive and efficient experience for both patrons and library staff.
As Owner's Project Manager, DAS represented the Town's interests throughout planning, design, procurement, and construction. Our team provided oversight of project budgeting, scheduling, coordination, and quality control, helping to ensure the successful delivery of a facility that met the community's vision and long-term operational goals.
The project achieved LEED Silver certification, demonstrating the Town's commitment to sustainability and responsible stewardship of public resources. Today, the South Hadley Public Library remains a centerpiece of civic life and an important contributor to the continued revitalization of South Hadley Falls.
